Book Writing Roller Coaster: Pen Over Time Challenge

The author has challenged herself to complete writing 10 non-fiction books in one year despite juggling with her already hectic schedule. This project will serve as an example of the importance of determination, discipline and passion, which will inspire everyone in making the impossible possible.

Yes, that's right. It is "TEN NON-FICTION" books in a span of one year! Wouldn't it be stressful? Of course it would. Impossible? No. Everything is possible when we put our mind to it.

The details of the challenge are as below:

OBJECTIVES:
1) To complete writing 10 non-fiction books in one year, which will enrich the reader's life in some way.
2) To inspire other potential authors that their book is not just a dream away.
3) To show that the key to success is simply discipline, discipline and discipline.
4) To break the taboo against self-publishing.
5) To demonstrate how important it is for one to master one's mind to become the mastermind of one's life.

OFFICIAL START & END DATE:
1st January 2014 - 31st December 2014

REASONS FOR THE CHALLENGE:
To inspire people that nothing is impossible when one sets one's mind to it. Every author would know how challenging it can be to publish a book. Every book published in the market first began with the 'writing' process. Which author would not swear that their book(s) would be life-changing? Isn't this the whole reason why authors write their book(s)? Most authors write because of their passion for writing, and of course, also with the hope that their book(s) will change other people's lives in one way or another.

There are also people who keep telling themselves that they had always wanted to write a book but never really got down to actually doing it. They then come up with reasons such as "I was very occupied", or "I had writer's block" and so on. Is it really true that one cannot publish a book despite their busy schedule? This is precisely what the author wants to put to the test. Despite her hectic schedule, can she produce 10 non-ficion books, which require plenty of research, in just one year?

The author believes that the only way to ever finish writing a book is not to just 'dream' about it but to actually just do it! No matter how young or old one is, it is never too late to write a book.

Observing the complacency of most people today, the author frequently hears how people wished to do something but never got down to actually doing it just because they believe it to be 'crazy' or 'unrealistic'. What is reality after all? All the scientific breakthroughs in this world today were once 'unrealistic' only until they were proven to be 'realistic'.

THE PROCESS:
The author will be blogging about the process (every few days) to keep readers updated as to how she is coping with such an arduous challenge. This includes bits and pieces about her juggling her personal life, spirituality, work and the challenge. The books will be at least 150 pages each.

THE EXPECTED OUTCOME UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE MISSION:
1) 10 good non-fiction books to enrich the readers' lives.
2) The challenge inspires budding and published authors to tap into the subconscious mind to receive inspiration on how to write books.
3) The challenge will demonstrate the obstacles that may come in one's way should one attempt something that other people deem "bizarre" or "un-achievable", and how to overcome them. This will be the proof that nothing is impossible and too difficult to achieve unless one has already given up.
4) People will begin to realise that the key to any success is discipline, discipline and discipline.
5) A good book need not be published by a traditional publisher. With advanced technology these days, there are many self-publishing tools that enable modern authors to share their knowledge with the world. People will move away from the notion that a good book cannot be self-published.
