Whenever I utter the words "I love you" to anyone, I see them not as a 'body' but as myself. To "LOVE" is to rise beyond impermanence. There is only one LOVE pulsating throughout the Universe, only taking its shape in different forms.
Love is water. Whether you put 1 litre of water in a bottle, watching it take the form of the bottle, or put it in a jug, and it takes the form of a jug, the 1 litre of water still remains the same. We can say that LOVE is also like electricity that lights up different devices. Whether in the form of a light bulb or the moving blades of a fan, the electric current remains the same, only with different resistance (just like the resistance of a human heart).
I was in uniform and ready to go. I was always jetting around to different parts of the globe. People always asked me how I ended up there (back then) or how I ended up here (doing whatever I'm doing now).
Someone even asked if I did not want others to know that I was once with an airline. I must admit that I had quite a laugh when I was asked that question. There really is nothing to hide. Memories remain as memories.
"MERDEKA!". You can hear the voice of the people echo throughout Dataran Merdeka as the flag of a free, independent nation was hoisted on August 31st, 1957. Trumpets bellowed throughout that night. The high spirits of the new citizens of Malaysia was uncontainable. Everyone was beaming from ear to ear to finally be free from foreign governance. That is the whole idea of achieving independence. To be free. Read More
During a conversation today with a disciple of mine from the United States, I was asked a very important question: "Master, who makes a good teacher?"
My reply was plain and simple. "A good teacher is one whom his/her students can share their dreams with," I said.
Education today is almost dead. All teachers enter the classroom to teach, but not all serve as an inspiration to their students. Most teach for the sake of making a living but not many teach from the heart and out of passion. Read More
It has again been a long time since I've updated my blog. One of the admins had asked if I could write anything just to update the readers because people have been sending e-mails enquiring about the dormant site. So, here it is. I hope the post will now un-dormant the site.
While I was ironing my clothes last night, a scene kept playing in my head. Vivid dialogues were exchanged between two fictitious characters in my mind as the hot metal plate straightened the waves on my clothing. As I ironed away, another character came into the picture. Listening to myself speak the thoughts of these ‘characters’, I suddenly thought to myself, “hey, this would make a good novel!” and began to immediately pen my ideas. Read More
Just finished digging another hole to bury yet another dead animal. My garden, though huge, is probably running out of space to bury the dead animals as a result of other people's mistakes.
PLEASE! If you happen to hit any animal on the road, do have the heart to check to see if it is still alive. If it is, bring it to the nearest vet because it might have a chance for survival. If it dies, then please have the courtesy to take the effort to bury it. In less than one month, we have buried TWO hit-and-run cases. Read More
It is an absolute MYTH when people say that Yoga is NOT a good fitness regime that can help one lose weight. A new student who joined this course, who tried her best to adhere to what was taught, weighed herself on Tuesday and discovered that she had lost 7kgs in merely 2 weeks. Read More
What was once a myth yesterday may become Science today, and what is Science today can also become a myth tomorrow. This was what I posted quite some time ago and someone asked me to prove it. There are so many examples that one can highlight to prove my words. Read More
Where there is birth, there is bound to be death. Where there is union, there will be separation. This is how the Law of duality, governed by Maya, operates. Where there is no birth, there is no death. Where there is no union, there is no separation. There is only One. Read More
The ruins of the Pagodas in Bagan induces one to think about how simple and beautiful life really is.
Why all the hoo-hahs about petty matters? How long will life in this physical body last? This body will perish one day, and so do all your material possessions. Life is simple. Just live it the best you can and make each step as meaningful as possible. Read More
I received a story from a disciple that touched my heart deeply few days ago. Two people who enquired one staff member about the Yoga courses had apparently asked if the Sandhya Maarga meditation sessions conducted at the Sandhya Maarga centres are religiously-inclined: "Does the meditation practised here have something to do with religion?" While having lunch, I overheard the next table discussing about Yoga. This, no doubt, captivated my attention. One Chinese lady asked if Yoga is related to religion. The other Indian lady replied no. According to her, although it originates from India, Yoga is more of a cultural practice. I did not agree with this answer of course. If Yoga is a cultural practice in India, why do we not see majority of the Indian households practicing Yoga?
Thank you to all who wished me Happy Women's Day. I am touched by your kind messages but I would also like to say something.
Dear women of the world, every day is YOUR day! There is no need for a specific date on the calendar to state that it is women's day for you to celebrate your existence! Every woman in this world is special and unique in her own ways.
Brazen impudence, or in other words, persistence, is the only way anything will become a reality. Any dream or goal, when persisted in, will set the universe to dance in the motion you will.
Yes, you will fall. But it is how you pick yourself up from that fall that defines your persistence. Everyone falls at some point of their life. You have not failed unless you say you have. In fact, I say that there is no such thing as failure. There are only opportunities to do better.
This quality of mental strength, I tell you, is a habit, and if developed, will leave you no regrets. I promise.
This is my response to this article on the Business Insider (What the Middle Class Doesn't Understand About Rich People) and I title it: "WHAT SOME RICH PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND":
1. According to the article, "the wealthy are comfortable being uncomfortable.". For your information, NOT all wealthy people are comfortable being uncomfortable. In my life, I have come across and counselled many youths who were brought up in wealthy families but lacked the drive to do something on their own. Many of these youths were more 'comfortable' in living off their parents' money instead and prefer to just follow all that have been drawn for them even though they may not be their dream at all. On this Ganesh Chaturthi, remember that one celebrates not the 'birthday' of a separate being, but the Divine Intelligence that lies within each and every creation. 'Divine Intelligence' is neither born nor does it die. It is the very operating power throughout the vast Universe. It is only through the proper direction of the inner intelligence that one's path becomes clear from obstacles. This is the reason why Ganesh, the symbol of the 'Intellect', is also widely known as the 'remover of obstacles'. Read More
Today, I read an article on how some pedigree dogs have been mutated to be what they are now, leading to a drastic change in facial features and the creation of deadly diseases for these species. (Here is the link:http://www.viralnova.com/dog-breeds-truth/)
You cannot always FIT others into the paradigm of what you think is perfect. Read More
When you've set your mind to do something, make sure you do it until the end. There's a Chinese saying, "要做,做到底!" If I started anything, I always made sure I finished it. Otherwise, you will never get anything done. If you never get anything done, how are you to realise your goals? Your goal is nothing but a series of deliberate effort. Have a lovely Tuesday.
Licks, licks and more licks. These are exactly what my
puppies do. They are up to new tricks every single day. Whenever I sit at the
entrance of the house, all of them will pounce on me at once to lick me. Kiara would lick my ears, and the rest would lick my hair, face, hands and feet.
Kiara, the Princess of the house, is not only demanding but very strong in character as well. If she does not want to budge, she will not allow
you to move her either! She makes her point clear that she does not want to get
out of the house by sitting firmly in front of me whenever I point the finger to the door and say "OUT". No matter how hard you
drag her by her collar, she will not move an inch! We are talking about a puppy here. Look at her size in the picture above! I will need to carry her two front paws in order to
make her stand on her own two feet whenever I want to get her to go outside of
the house! Or worst case scenario, I'll have to carry her. This is the white puppy who jumps around the house as though she is a rabbit. Let's not forget to mention that Kiara loves carrots too. What's up doc?
