An unfinished book and a miraculous mistake!

Hello there!

It's already the 6th of February 2014 and I am supposed to have completed my first book, and have I? No. I must somehow complete the first book within the next few days though so that I can start on my next.

What's that? What was my first book about again? I have changed its title many times now and I am not sure if this will be the finalised title. However, for now, it is "Handbook On Vibrational Healing: Radionics and Vibrionics". This title seems to remind me of my Law textbooks back in the University of Hull. While this book focuses on the Radionics and Vibrionics systems of alternative healing, the book also provides a pretty good insight into the general background and basis on vibrational healing.

Editing this book is not easy because of the jargons and the links of scientific concepts to vibrational healing systems. Reading the lines make me as frustrated as the writer portrayed in the image above because I want to make sure that I do not drown my readers with all the medical jargons and that they can understand the complex concepts of vibrational healing regardless of their current knowledge about the topic.

Aside from tapping the keyboard on my laptop, battling with the 26 alphabets on my screen, I do have life outside my writing-world too. We have been refurbishing the Klang Yoga studio in Malaysia for the past few days. Now, we shall have an additional classroom (for Yoga and other courses) and natural medicine treatment space (coming very soon). Since students are returning from their one-week Chinese New Year break, we have also re-painted the walls at the common area outside the studio to make the place look more lively. We painted everything ourselves and yes, we did enjoy a good soak in paint without the jacuzzi feature.

I know what some people may be thinking. Why can't she stop painting?! Maybe I am in the wrong profession. I should have probably become a painter instead of a writer. I just can't seem to get rid of paintbrushes out of my life. As I 'meditate' more and more on them by doing these paintjobs, my hair seems to be taking after their form too after being drenched with paint so many times.

Instead of focusing on my bad hair days for the past few days, let me now divert your attention to something positive that I would like to share with you. I had ordered very expensive recording studio equipment all the way from the United Kingdom online yesterday for our upcoming projects. There were two versions of microphones that came with the set. However, due to restricted funds, I opted for the cheaper one though I did still toy with the idea that it would be nice to have the better one.

After placing my order, apparently there was a miscalculation to the shipping cost on eBay and the company contacted me via e-mail, telling me they would give me a 10% discount on the existing price if I would pay the additional shipping cost of £50. I obliged and paid them the remaining balance. However, I could still not shake off the idea of having the other better microphone. It definitely costs much more than the cheaper version because of its additional features. However, after listening to the demos online, I thought that microphone sounded better and I just had to have it.

I asked the company for some advice if it would serve the purpose of our recording and how much it would cost me if I could change the set with the more expensive microphone.

Believe it or not, the reply I received was absolutely out-of-the-world:
"As this has clearly been a mistake on our part, we will upgrade free of charge..."

Isn't that wonderful? What a nice gesture! If anyone one wants to know what PR is in the business world, this company definitely scores it! I will notify you if they lived up to their words once I receive the package within the next few weeks.

What are the odds of a large company making a mistake on the calculation of shipping costs?  Whatever the reason may be, it was definitely a sweet mistake for me. Thank you E.K. for being so generous! I am now getting the entire set 10% less with a beautiful free upgrade of the better version microphone that would have costed another additional bomb to my pocket.

What I am trying to say is when you are doing something you truly love for a cause, everything will just fall into place for you.

Love and light,
Genevieve
