Apartment Burgled
My apartment got burgled few days ago. Neighbours heard people banging the door and cutting the grill, but none stepped forward to do anything about it. This is Malaysia today. The same thing happened to my neighbour last year and I reported it to the security guard because the owner of the house wasn't there. Yet, even with the loud banging noise, no one did anything about my unit.
The burglar took quite a few things; household goods such as the washing machine, vacuum cleaner, radio, shoes etc. and my gold plated Emirates bracelet that the crew on my last flight gave to me. More may be missing but still yet to be identified.
All the aluminium and steel items taken - shower head, taps and they even took down the sink. They even placed the sink in a box, thinking they will have time to come back to take it. Unfortunately for them, I arrived first.
I know it is definitely the work of another resident who lives within that block. Maybe they needed these items more than I do. Despite the losses, I am grateful for those things that are still there. After all, nothing is truly lost when nothing can be gained in this world. At the end of the day, all will turn to ash eventually.
Still, what goes around, comes around. When you resort to stealing, you are operating from a 'lack' mindset.
One can take or steal (not only physical items, but ideas as well) from another, but they will always be the type of people who rely on others to provide for them. They will always have limited opportunities.
One can steal things or ideas, but one can never steal from others the source where these things or ideas originate from.
Love and light,
Genevieve
