Mind The Moon

When you gaze at the moon, what do you see? Just as the moon reflects light from the sun at night, our mind reflects the divinity within as well amidst Maya (illusion). The mind is the cause of bondage, but it is also verily the instrument of liberation. When you have mastered your mind, you would have then recognised the Self.

Just like the full moon tonight, do not be half-minded. Whatever you have set your mind to, make sure you fulfill it. Do not weaken your willpower by procrastinating. Willpower never fails man, but man always fails his willpower. If you cannot fulfill the promises that you have made to yourself and others, how do you expect your words to carry power? If you have failed yourself on so many occasions for not fulfilling the tasks you have set your mind to, how do you expect the mind to take your words seriously the next time you command it to do something else? When your thoughts, words and deeds are not in harmony, it breeds an untrained mind (the monkey mind).

Therefore, the next time you promise yourself something, regardless of whatever obstacles that come your way, do your best to fulfill it. Do not give yourself excuses for being unable to fulfill a promise to others or yourself. Otherwise, the fickle mind will not take your words seriously. If the mind can 'talk', it will probably say something along this line:- "Aaahhhh... s/he is doing it again. S/he is not serious. I do not need to do that for him/her."

Eventually, you get bound and become a victim to the monkey mind - the mind that allowed to roam aimlessly in the first place. An untrained mind is akin to a spoilt child. If you do not discipline the child, do not bother complaining if the child fails to listen to your command(s) later on in life.

Carry out your tasks whole-heartedly and the result will shine, just like the full moon tonight. It's either you do something and give the best you can, or don't bother doing it at all.

Love and light,
Genevieve.
