Selfish To 'Change' Another Person?

Question received during yesterday's lecture at PCAM 2013:
Dr. Genevieve, since you said that we are supposed to eradicate our desires, then isn't it selfish if one uses the power of the mind to 'change' a person to become more affectionate?

My reply:
God is all-pervasive. Mind itself is God. When I said life should minus desire, it means desire no longer. Just live as though your 'desire' or goal already is. Then you shall desire no longer because you cannot want something that is already yours. And when you live as though it already is, the structure is already created in the 4th dimensional world and it will materialise itself in the 3rd dimensional world in good time.

Man is made in the image of God. How sure are you that the person-in-question does not want to become more affectionate? Everyone has been created out of Love and Love is the very essence of Man and God. You are not forcing a person on the outside to become more affectionate, but communicating to him subconsciously of that intention. If he was not created to be affectionate, why then did the seed of that desire exist in you? If he was created to Love and is capable to show affection but is unable to due to some emotional blockage, isn't it selfish then of you not to help him subconsciously to express that affection?

Love and light,
Genevieve
