The Mission Begins

Here I am, sitting again in another 'mamak restaurant', hogging their WiFi service to write this post after having gone missing for over a week.

While I do not buy into the celebrating a worldly New Year nonsense (obvious in my post: "What New Year?!", yesterday, the  was the official start date of my Book Writing Roller Coaster: Pen Over Time project.

Did I start writing anything yet? No.

Do I know what I am going to write for the first out of the ten books I am supposed to finish in a span of one year? Yes.

My schedule for the past one week plus has been hectic. I drove all the way up North (Penang Island to be specific) to spend quality time with disciples and family for a couple of days. Visiting Penang never fails to bring back beautiful old memories when my grandmother was still alive. Looking at how Penang is so well-developed today, somehow there is still an invisible shadow of the old Penang in my mind; back when KOMTAR was the best shopping mall around. Property prices on the island rose multiple fold after UNESCO gave it its 'World Heritage Site' status. The prices of the properties on the island are so ridiculously exorbitant that one cannot help but wonder how do all the hawkers afford to stay there?!

After the Penang reunion was over, I had to rush back down South of Malaysia to immediately receive a guest from Hong Kong. Despite the fact that I had only a few more days before the official start date of my writing-craze project, I had to not only entertain a foreign guest but also to prepare for the opening of the academy's new term (which means more paperwork!). And to top it all, I am also about to move to a new residence, a house which I have busied myself painting for the past few days! For the past half a year, it has been non-stop painting. I have been painting so often that I dare say that I can already be employed as a professional painter for buildings.

Blogging about the progress of my writing has an added challenge with the fact that I am not subscribed to an internet service provider at home. While I wait for the digital-life-savers to create an invisible connection in my new home, I will still have to settle with hogging some local mamak's WiFi service. Seeing the Free WiFi Zone sign now with the project underway is like seeing a ray of light amidst darkness.

I have about less than 2 weeks before I will fly off again to another country. Blogging about my progress there should not be a problem since there is a good internet connection available. And so, the mission has begun. I will make sure I start writing something tomorrow. Just as how I was so long-winded during the 'design stage' (2nd stage) of my GCSE ICT coursework back, I did not stray far from that habit. Everyone was already about to conclude their courseworks (the Evaluation Stage - stage 5) with only one week left before the deadline, but I was still busy designing the 'perfect project'. I did however manage to finish my few hundred pages of coursework to meet the deadline.

For thsi project, if I am to write around 150-pages per book, I will need to produce at least 5 pages every single day (exclusive the blog on my progress).  So let's pray that I do the same for this project. It will be a race I will never forget for sure!

Logging out now.

Love and light,
Genevieve

  1. Good luck Genevieve! I know you can do it! You're still that iron lady that I used to know back in uni. Don't busy yourself too much though.
